The airport operates 24 hours a day with no curfew, handles domestic and international flights from a single integrated terminal, and is already confirmed for six airlines — with more to follow. Whether you live in Western Sydney, are flying into Sydney for the first time, or are joining a cruise from Sydney after October 25, this is everything you need to know right now.

Western Sydney International Airport is the first major new airport built in Australia in over 50 years. 🛫 PART 2: Every Confirmed Airline and Route — Full Schedule

Domestic Airlines (From October 25, 2026)

Jetstar will be the first domestic commercial carrier to fly from the airport when it opens to passengers on Sunday, October 25, 2026. The first Jetstar flight to take off from WSI will be JQ362, departing at 11am to the Gold Coast.

Airline Routes Frequency Start Date
Jetstar Melbourne (MEL) Up to 14x weekly Oct 25, 2026
Jetstar Gold Coast (OOL) 4x weekly Oct 25, 2026

International Airlines (From Late October 2026)

International services will begin almost immediately after the domestic launch. Singapore Airlines is scheduled to launch daily Airbus A350-900 services to Changi from 23 November, with both business and economy class available. Flight SQ202 departs WSI at 23:55, arriving in Singapore at 05:05 the following morning. Emirates and Qatar Airways have also confirmed services, following a government decision in May 2026 to designate WSI as a separately designated international gateway with its own capacity allocations, independent of KSA.

Airline Route Frequency Start Date
Air New Zealand Auckland (AKL) TBC Oct 26, 2026
Singapore Airlines Singapore Changi (SIN) Daily — A350-900 Nov 23, 2026
Emirates Confirmed — dates TBC TBC 2026/2027
Qatar Airways Confirmed — dates TBC TBC 2026/2027
Fiji Airways Nadi (NAN) 3x weekly March 2027

Fiji Airways is the latest airline to sign on with Sydney’s new $5.3 billion Western Sydney International Airport, ahead of its opening in October. Tickets are now on sale between WSI and Nadi, Fiji, with Fiji Airways launching three flights per week from March.

Key note for US, UK, Canadian and NZ travellers: If you are flying into Sydney after October 25 on Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Qatar Airways or Air New Zealand — your arriving airport may be WSI, not Sydney Kingsford Smith (SYD). Always check your booking confirmation and ticket carefully. These are two separate airports serving Greater Sydney.

🚌 PART 3: How to Get to Western Sydney Airport — Every Option

By Bus (Available From Opening Day)

From 5 July, new bus services for Western Sydney International Airport will commence with buses running every 30 minutes from 5:00am to 10:00pm daily to and from WSI to Penrith, Leppington, Liverpool, Campbelltown and Mount Druitt. A free shuttle bus will operate between St Marys train and bus interchange and WSI airport kerbside from first passenger flight.

Five permanent Transport for NSW bus routes serve the terminal at opening — all run every 30 minutes, 5am to 10pm, seven days a week. The free WSI Link shuttle bus to St Marys Station is your connection to the Sydney Trains network from Day 1.

By Car (Recommended for Western Sydney Residents)

The toll-free M12 Motorway connects Western Sydney International Airport directly to Sydney’s motorway network, with seamless access to the M7. The M12 opened on March 14, 2026, well ahead of the airport’s passenger launch — road access is already in place. WSI is approximately 44km from the Sydney CBD and just 20 minutes from Parramatta.

By Metro (Coming 2027)

Set to open in 2027, the new 23km Metro line will connect WSI to St Marys, Orchard Hills, Luddenham, WSI Business Precinct and Bradfield. Travel time: approximately 15 minutes between WSI and St Marys. Capacity: up to 7,740 passengers per hour per direction. Until then, the free shuttle bus to St Marys is the train-connected option.

By Taxi or Rideshare

Uber, DiDi and taxis will all be available from the terminal. On opening weekend — October 25 and 26 — significant demand is expected. Pre-booking a rideshare or taxi in advance is strongly recommended.

🅿️ PART 4: Parking — The Big News This Week

Western Sydney International Airport has unveiled launch parking rates starting from just $15 a day as it prepares to welcome its first passengers next month. The new Nancy-Bird Walton Airport will offer long-stay parking from $15 a day, alongside Saver parking from $29 and Premium parking from $49.

This is a significant point of difference from Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport, where short-term parking near terminals runs $25 to $60 per day.

Car Park Type Daily Rate Distance to Terminal
P1 Premium (covered) $49/day 3-minute walk
P2 Saver (covered/uncovered) $29/day 3-minute walk
P4 Long-stay $15/day Free shuttle bus
Express Zone Drop-off/pick-up Free (15 min) Kerbside

The launch pricing will be available for travel from 25 October 2026 until the end of April 2027, with further discounts promised for passengers who book online or stay for longer periods. The airport is also offering three hours of free parking for visitors who want to experience the new terminal after it opens.

Online bookings will ask for the customers’ licence plate and will use licence plate recognition for entry and exit.

🌏 PART 5: Market-by-Market Guide — Why This Matters for International Travellers

🇦🇺 Australian Travellers (Western Sydney, Parramatta, Blue Mountains, Penrith, Campbelltown, Liverpool)

WSI is your airport. It is closer to home, has no overnight curfew, charges significantly less for parking than Sydney Airport, and has the same airlines. The $15-a-day parking alone could save a family of four more than $200 on a two-week trip compared with equivalent parking at KSA.

🇺🇸 🇨🇦 US and Canadian Travellers Flying to Sydney

If you are booked on Singapore Airlines, Emirates, or Qatar Airways to Sydney after October 25 — you must check whether your flight has been shifted to WSI. These airlines have confirmed services to WSI. Always verify your arriving airport on your booking confirmation before departing home.

🇬🇧 UK Travellers on the Kangaroo Route

The Kangaroo Route to Australia — operated by Qantas, British Airways, and Emirates — is one of the UK’s most popular long-haul routes. Emirates has confirmed services to WSI. If you are flying Emirates to Sydney from late 2026 or into 2027, verify your arriving airport before booking hotel or onward transport.

🇦🇺 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 Cruise Passengers Flying Into Sydney

Australia has just opened a new airport in Sydney that will take international passengers after October 2026. If you are flying to Australia after that to join a cruise or wanting to fly home from Sydney you had better check which airport you are flying into. Sydney’s cruise terminal is near the CBD and KSA — not near WSI. If your cruise departs from Sydney’s White Bay or Circular Quay terminals, budget for a 45-minute to 1-hour transfer from WSI rather than a 20-minute ride from KSA.

🇳🇿 New Zealand Travellers

Air New Zealand launches Auckland–WSI flights on October 26 — the day after opening. This gives NZ travellers a direct WSI option from launch week. Auckland–WSI fares are now on sale at airnewzealand.co.nz.
