TRENDING: THE PARIS POLICE PREFECTURE HAS EXTENDED THE NIGHT CURFEW AROUND PLACE DE LA RÉPUBLIQUE AND LES HALLES UNTIL 6AM MONDAY, OCTOBER 26. RATP IS CLOSING FIVE CENTRAL STATIONS FROM 10PM, AND RER B IS CUT BETWEEN SAINT-MICHEL AND THE AIRPORT BRANCH. A PROTEST MARCH IS PLANNED FOR SATURDAY. HERE IS WHAT TOURISTS NEED TO KNOW.

If you are visiting Paris this half-term, the curfew applies to specific zones, not the whole city. But the closures that go with it, and the protests planned this weekend, will affect how you get around.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Extended by | Paris Police Prefecture, on Thursday October 22 (Prefectural Order No. 2026-01407), following Prime Minister Lecornu’s request on October 19 for partial, localised curfews |
| Nights covered | October 22–23, 23–24, 24–25 and 25–26 |
| Hours | 11pm to 6am |
| Ends | 6am Monday October 26 (unless further extended) |
| Zone 1 | The central reservation of Place de la République (junction of the 3rd, 10th and 11th arrondissements) |
| Zone 2 | A defined area of Les Halles, bounded by Place Maurice-Quentin, Rue Berger, Boulevard de Sébastopol, Rue Rambuteau and Allée André-Breton, including the boundary streets |
| Other Île-de-France towns | None identified in the announcements we reviewed |
The curfew does not cover whole districts or the entire city. The prefectural order has maps with the exact boundaries.
Who is exempt: residents who can prove their address (e.g. a utility bill or rent receipt), people who must enter the zones to work, shopkeepers, and emergency services.
Tourists and hotel guests: the published exemptions do not mention them. Do not assume you are exempt. If your hotel is inside or next to a zone, ask the hotel what to do and have your booking confirmation ready. We did not find the penalty for breaking the curfew in the sources we reviewed.
Per RATP, at the request of the prefecture, these stations close from 10pm on Thursday October 22: République, Châtelet, Les Halles, Châtelet–Les Halles and Trocadéro. Connections are not available, and trains may pass through without stopping.
| Station | Lines affected |
|---|---|
| Châtelet | Lines 1, 4, 7, 11 and 14 (no transfers) |
| République | Lines 3, 5, 9 and 11 (Line 8 already does not stop there because of construction) |
| Les Halles / Châtelet–Les Halles | Line 4, RER A, B and D, and other lines at the hub |
| Trocadéro | Lines 6 and 9 |
| Line 11 | Interrupted between Hôtel de Ville and Châtelet from 10pm |
Alternatives at République: Arts et Métiers (lines 3 and 11), Oberkampf (lines 5 and 9), Strasbourg–Saint-Denis (lines 8 and 9, plus line 4).
These closures are set by RATP evening by evening and are separate from the curfew order. Confirm each night on the RATP traffic page.
If you have a late-night or early-morning airport transfer: do not rely on RER B after 10:45pm. Use a taxi, rideshare or bus, book in advance, and allow extra time. We could not confirm bus or Roissybus timetables for the curfew nights, so check the operator.
| Item | Detail (Paris à la Carte) |
