If your flight does not touch these airports, the data probably does not affect you.
✓ Check your flight status on the airline’s website or app before you leave for the airport ✓ Look for the cancellation notice and your rebooking or refund options ✓ Ask for a refund if the airline cancels. Do not accept a voucher unless you want one ✓ Book connections on one ticket where you can, so the airline must rebook you ✓ Allow extra time at Mumbai, Delhi, Jakarta and Manila, which had the most delays ✓ Keep boarding passes, notices and receipts for hotels and meals ✓ Check your government’s travel advice for Saudi Arabia and the region ✓ Check your travel insurance for airline cancellations and conflict-related exclusions
| Situation | What generally applies |
|---|---|
| Flight cancelled by the airline | You can generally choose a refund or a rebooking. Rules vary by country |
| Flight departing the UK or EU | UK261 and EU261 may apply. Security or airspace problems are usually “extraordinary circumstances”, so cash compensation is unlikely, but refund, rerouting and care still apply |
| Flight to or from the US | A refund if the airline cancels and you decline the alternative (DOT rule). No fixed cash compensation |
| Flight to or from Canada | The Air Passenger Protection Regulations may apply, depending on the cause |
| Flights within India or Saudi Arabia | The local regulator’s rules and the airline’s conditions apply. Check with the airline |
| Separate tickets | The airline is not responsible for missed connections you booked separately |
