The strike is happening. Right now, across France, the country’s rail network is operating at sharply reduced capacity as all four major SNCF unions carry out their first joint national walkout since late 2024. If your train is running today, it is running. If it isn’t — you have rights, and they expire the moment your scheduled departure time passes. This is everything you need to know, right now.
Rail services across France are severely disrupted today as multiple unions stage a coordinated strike — the first joint industrial action at SNCF since late 2024. One third of TGV high-speed services are cancelled on Wednesday. Intercités face more significant disruption with only half the normal services running. TER regional services are severely disrupted across the country. SNCF stated that it does not have the means to fully cover all journeys and has mobilised all available resources.
SNCF confirmed in a statement that all passengers are being contacted in the event of a train cancellation and are entitled to a refund or the option to book another train free of charge.
The strike window runs from 19:00 last night (Tuesday June 9) through 06:00 tomorrow morning (Thursday June 11). Today — Wednesday June 10 — is the full strike day. The four railway unions — CGT-Cheminots, Sud-Rail, Unsa-Ferroviaire, and CFDT-Cheminots — filed the strike notice in opposition to organisational restructuring measures they say are harming employees’ mental and physical well-being, and ongoing cost-of-living and purchasing power concerns affecting railway workers.

This is the definitive line-by-line picture as of today, June 10, based on SNCF’s officially published strike timetable and live service confirmations.
Whether for TGV INOUI in France or to Europe, OUIGO, or TGV Lyria, two out of three trains are expected to be running on Wednesday. Business travellers will see their train journeys disrupted by a SNCF strike on Wednesday 10 June.
If your TGV or OUIGO train today has not been cancelled, it is in the two-thirds running. If you have not received a cancellation notification and your booking on sncf-connect.com still shows “Confirmé” — your train is running. Board normally.
If your train shows “Supprimé” (cancelled) on sncf-connect.com or the SNCF Connect app — your refund option is active now. Claim before your scheduled departure time.
For Intercités lines, this total will be even lower than TGV, with only about 1 in 2 trains scheduled for June 10.
Intercités corridors seeing the most severe disruption today: Paris–Clermont-Ferrand, Paris–Limoges–Toulouse, Paris–Caen–Cherbourg, Paris–Rouen, Paris–Amiens. These are routes with fewer daily departures to begin with — on a 50% service day, some corridors may have zero morning or zero afternoon services.
The four representative unions of SNCF are calling for a nationwide strike on Wednesday June 10. In Île-de-France, users of Transilien lines and RER lines operated by SNCF are among the first to be affected.
TER disruption varies heavily by region today. For your specific regional service: check ter.sncf.com/[your-region] — every regional TER website has published its strike-day confirmed timetable. Do not assume your TER is running without checking.
Major disruptions are expected on most Île-de-France train lines. SNCF recommends postponing your train journey if it is not essential today.
Specific Transilien line status today:
RER B — the line connecting central Paris with Charles de Gaulle Airport: expect 1 out of 2 trains to run between Gare du Nord and the north (including CDG Terminal 2). The interconnection at Gare du Nord is working — there is NO need to change trains at Gare du Nord on the surface to continue the journey to the airport.
This is the most important operational detail for passengers flying from CDG today. The RER B is running — but at half frequency. Journey times to CDG will be longer than normal because trains are less frequent and platforms will be more crowded.
Practical CDG transfer guidance today:
Other RER lines today:
The strike does not affect services on the Paris Metro, bus or tram network, since these are not operated by SNCF.
All 16 Paris Metro lines are operating normally today. If you are in Paris and need to move around the city, the Metro is fully reliable on strike day. Use the Bonjour RATP app or RATP’s website for real-time Metro status.
All RATP bus routes and tram lines (T1–T13) operating normally. Not SNCF.
The Orlyval automated shuttle connecting Orly Airport to Antony (RER B interchange) and the direct bus connections to Orly are RATP-operated and running normally today. For passengers flying from Orly — no SNCF disruption on your airport transfer.
Eurostar has confirmed trains 9007 and 9036 are cancelled on the French network on June 10–11, 2026. Eurostar has contacted impacted travellers but passengers can check the status of their train on the live train info page.
Some Eurostar services between Paris and Cologne and Brussels are impacted, but those running to London are so far unaffected.
What this means today:
Train 9007 and train 9036 are the two specific Eurostar services pulled from the Wednesday timetable. These are Paris Gare du Nord departures — check eurostar.com → live train info to confirm whether your specific Eurostar booking today is affected.
For the Eurostar services that are running today: check in normally at London St Pancras or Paris Gare du Nord. Allow extra time at Paris Gare du Nord — the station is under heavy pressure today with cancelled-train passengers seeking assistance at the Eurostar service desk and crowds from the reduced French rail schedule.
If your Eurostar is one of the cancelled trains:
Go to eurostar.com → Manage Booking → your options are:
You have three months from today’s original departure date to claim your preferred option — but available seats on alternative dates (particularly June 12–14) are filling rapidly. Act today if you want a specific alternative date.

Some Eurostar services between Paris and Cologne and Brussels are impacted today due to SNCF infrastructure constraints on the French leg of the route.
The Paris–Brussels and Paris–Amsterdam legs operate on SNCF-managed tracks between Paris Gare du Nord and the Belgian border. Today’s SNCF strike reduces infrastructure availability on this corridor. Brussels-originating services to London are less severely affected — the disruption is concentrated on Paris-originating departures.
Check: eurostar.com → live train info for your specific Thalys/Eurostar service
TGV Lyria is included in the two-out-of-three running figure — one third of TGV Lyria services are cancelled today.
The Paris–Geneva, Paris–Lausanne, Paris–Bern, and Paris–Zurich services are running at two-thirds normal frequency. Swiss-originating morning services may have departed normally. Check: tgv-lyria.com → My Bookings for your specific service status.
The Paris–Frankfurt and Paris–Cologne TGV/ICE co-operated services are affected on their French legs. Paris-originating departures are subject to SNCF crew availability today. Check: bahn.de → My Bookings.
For passengers whose train is cancelled and who need to travel today — these options are fully operational:
BlaBlaCar Bus: Confirmed running normally. Paris–Lyon, Paris–Bordeaux, Paris–Toulouse, Paris–Nantes, Paris–Strasbourg, Paris–Lille. Book at blablacar.fr → Bus. Capacity is elevated today as cancelled-train passengers shift to coach — book now if you need a seat.
FlixBus: Fully operational. flixbus.fr — Paris Gallieni (east Paris) and Paris Bercy departure points.
BlaBlaCar rideshare: Typically sees significant capacity increase on SNCF strike days as drivers offer journeys. blablacar.fr → Covoiturage — Paris to Lyon, Bordeaux, Marseille, and other major corridors seeing strong availability today.
Air France / easyJet / Transavia domestic flights: Paris–Lyon, Paris–Bordeaux, Paris–Toulouse, Paris–Marseille, Paris–Nice, Paris–Nantes, Paris–Strasbourg. All operating normally. Book at airfrance.com, easyjet.com, or transavia.com. Important: RER B to CDG is running at 1 in 2 frequency today — allow 90 minutes for airport transfer.
Driving: A6 (Paris–Lyon), A10 (Paris–Bordeaux), A7 (Lyon–Marseille) and A63 are experiencing elevated traffic today as SNCF passengers shift to road. Allow 30–60 minutes extra journey time on major routes.
The strike is expected to end at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday June 11, after which SNCF will begin restoring the full timetable. There may be some knock-on disruption on Thursday.
Normal SNCF service resumes from 06:00 Thursday — but “normal” means the first morning wave of trains runs from positions established during recovery overnight. Some early-morning Thursday services may operate slightly late as aircraft reposition — this is routine post-strike behaviour. By Thursday late morning, the network should be operating normally.
Passengers on cancelled trains are usually warned by email or SMS. If you haven’t received notification, check sncf-connect.com or the SNCF Connect app and check that your train is running.
The Eurostar disruption story is not finished with today’s strike:
Window 1 (June 8–13): Today is in the middle of this window. June 11, 12, and 13 Eurostar services may still be affected by residual infrastructure constraints at Paris Gare du Nord as SNCF Réseau recovers.
Window 2 (June 15–18): Confirmed — the positioning debt from today’s action requires a second round of Eurostar capacity reduction next week.
Window 3 (June 18–21): Confirmed — coincides with the Paris CDG airport strike on June 18, which independently threatens aviation operations at France’s primary international hub.
Check: eurostar.com/uk-en/travel-info/travel-updates for live status on all three windows.
The single most important thing to understand today: your refund right expires at your train’s scheduled departure time. If your train is cancelled and you wait until after its scheduled departure to claim your refund — the option disappears.
All passengers are being contacted in the event of a train cancellation and are entitled to a refund or the option to book another train free of charge.
The standard terms of non-refundable SNCF tickets are suspended for strike-cancelled services. Your cheapest advance-purchase fare — Prem’s, OUIGO Standard, TGV INOUI Loisir non-flex — is fully refundable for a cancelled train today.
How to claim your refund right now:
Refund arrives in your bank account within 3–5 business days.
If you want to travel on a different date rather than refund — exchange free of charge to any available train in the same class. June 11 and 12 availability is selling quickly. Act now if you want a specific date.
If your train is in the running two-thirds but arrives late:
Claim directly with SNCF at sncf-connect.com or Eurostar at eurostar.com → Delay repay.
